Mothership UK & Earl Films

Mothership UK creates boutique video content and Earl Films makes creative corporate films. Zsolt Sandor graduated in film from Cornucopia University in Montreal, Canada in the year 2000. He has worked in Toronto’s feature film industry, then in documentaries, commercials and corporate films. Since 2008, Zsolt has been freelancing across the UK and the rest of the world!

Mothership UK was incorporated in order to supply Disney with crew on the production of ‘Art Attack’, filming in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After this, the company went from strength to strength, working both locally and internationally for clients including 21st Century Fox, Samsung, VO5, Creative England, Northern Ballet, Illamasqua, Gameloft and The Royal Armouries.

Earl Films was started in London by producer Tim Earl. Zsolt worked with him as a freelancer from day one and for over thirteen years they built the business into a respected creative corporate production house, with clientele in the medical education and high-end lifestyle arenas. Tim sadly passed away in 2022 and has left the business to Zsolt and his colleague Oliver Cross. The pair are determined to build on his legacy.

For Earl Films’ future, they are focused on growing the business by returning to producing larger scale productions for their existing client base in medical education, as well as gaining new business in areas including fintech, green tech, holidays, travel and leisure. Mothership are keen to pursue new direct-to-client and agency relationships in the realms of sustainability, vegan and eco-friendly products, and work on creative projects that they can be proud of what they achieve in the world.

Both companies also work with other businesses in LCVS, including BlackBox Creative, Little Motel and Tell Studio. Zsolt was invited to join the LG3 creative space in Aire Street by an existing tenant and is so grateful for this. LCVS has enabled Mothership to have an affordable location close to home, clients and travel hubs in Leeds City Centre. Being part of the LCVS community has allowed the companies to build creative partnerships with other tenants, have access to equipment and expertise from like-minded businesses, and to feel connected to the city and its creative community.
