Rose Dufton
Rose Dufton, is a freelance print designer, emerging contemporary artist and one half of Still Studio. Rose graduated from Leeds College of Art in 2015 with a first class honours degree in Print Design. After graduating, she went on to work as an in-house designer for a well-known high street brand. Rose continues to work for commercial brands within the fashion sector.
Rose left her position to begin freelance print design work in 2018. Then in 2020, she began to develop her own collection of fine art paintings, something which had been a dream for many years. From there, Rose has continued developing her fine art practice, selling paintings to many collectors worldwide, and has begun developing a ceramics collection.
Rose collaborates with other businesses, both as a print designer and as an artist, working on bespoke commissions and prints. Recently, she collaborated with the high street brand Oasis on a capsule collection of exclusive designs for their SS collection.
Rose hopes to grow her fine art practice so that her paintings can reach more collectors. She wants to expand her ceramics collection and create a larger offering of sculptural functional artworks alongside working on freelance print projects with exciting innovative brands.
Having a dedicated studio space for her creative practice has made such a difference to Rose’s career; the affordable rates offered by LCVS allow her to not only gain more of a work-life balance by having somewhere to create but also to connect with so many other creative small businesses here at Aire Street. Rose believes that the sense of community that is felt within the building makes such a difference when you are self-employed.
